I’m posting this on Christmas Day, but I hope that you aren’t reading this on Christmas Day. You should actually be spending time with your family and loved ones instead of eating vicariously through me. Unless you’re lonely, then I hope that reading my Christmas experience gives you some holiday comfort.
The big reveal right away…this is a “Porkken”:
It’s a deboned chicken with stuffing, wrapped inside of a butterflied pork loin (including the baby back ribs), all wrapped in bacon. You already know Turducken, so please meet Porkken. Now read on for the story of how this all happened.
I LOVE a good burger. So much so that I don’t want eat them more than once every month or two for fear that I’ll get tired of them! So when I DO actually eat a burger, I want it to be DAMN GOOD. Enter the newest food truck to hit Vancouver, The Local Omnivore.

Stateside Craft on Commercial Drive is the “sequel” to Portland Craft on Main Street except instead of just focusing on Oregon and Washington State beers, it’s the entire US! Well, whatever they can get their hands on, that is. Will Stateside Craft rank among the better beer places along Commercial Drive like St. Augustine’s, Biercraft or Tangent Cafe? Will I like it as much as Portland Craft? Stateside Craft are still in their soft-opening phase, but I wanted to check their progress and get some all-you-can-eat bacon with my beer!
