I reviewed the original Richmond location of John 3:16 back in November 2014 (review here) but that location was torn down to make way for a new huge development. Their replacement Richmond location around the corner on No. 3 Road is coming “soon”, but in the meantime they opened their North Vancouver location back in April 2016.

Lunch Quickie: Fluffy Steamed Buns at The Bao Place in Burnaby

I stumbled on The Bao Place cuz of Instagram. Good thing about Instagram is that it’s good for discovering places that other people like. Bad thing is that it’s impossible to remember who mentions what because it’s like Twitter — it’s a deluge of data that’s unrelenting…like a firehose. There’s only one lukewarm review on Zornado of this place, but since I was in the area, I thought I’d check it out for a quick lunch.

Malaysian Salvation at John 3:16 in Richmond

We’re always on the lookout for new Malaysian options because it’s Wicca’s favourite cuisine. The big, rich, deep flavours of the curries, the decadent roti canais, the subtle beauty of Hainanese chicken rice, and the interplay of cultures make it a really enjoyable cuisine.

We heard from a few friends that this newish place in Richmond was good. It’s got a (to me) hilarious name: John 3:16.
